Official UNCG student records are maintained by the University Registrar’s Office. This includes personal information like name and address, enrollment information like degree and program, and grade information including transcripts. Students can get instructions here about how to request an official transcript, update their official contact information, and get official verification of enrollment at UNCG. This is also the place where information about semester honors — the Chancellor’s List and Dean’s List — is available. International Students holding F-1 or J-1 visas are required by Federal Law to maintain current student records. For further information, go to Maintaining Your Status. International students in F and J status should contact the International Programs Center for information about the retention schedule of visa documents, federal regulations governing recordkeeping and reporting requirements. University records are maintained according to North Carolina Public Records Law. For more information refer to Records Management at UNCG
The University Registrar’s Office provides transcripts of a student’s official UNCG academic record upon request. Former UNCG students are not required to send UNCG transcripts to UNCG for admission purposes.
A grade in a course is based on the quality of the student’s classroom and written work throughout the semester. Students can view and print copies of their grades from UNCGenie.
Students can change nearly any aspect of their personal information on record with UNCG at any point during their time as a student. Most changes can be made in UNCGenie.
UNCG fully supports and values an inclusive community with visible and meaningful representation of diversity. We seek to promote a climate of civility and respect, where diverse viewpoints and experiences are welcomed.
Students may need to provide enrollment verification to third parties for scholarship purposes, medical coverage, loan deferments, jury duty, car insurance, etc. Learn more about why and how to verify enrollment.
Students with outstanding academic performance are recognized each fall and spring semester after grades are posted. Dean’s and Chancellor’s List honorees are posted on our website.
