How To Apply

There will be an individual application for each Affordable Housing scheme, there is no general application form or waiting list.

When affordable homes are made available for purchase, they will be advertised in the following places;

South Dublin County Council’s website
South Dublin County Council’s Social Media pages and
In a local/national newspaper.

The advertisement will include details about the scheme including how and when to apply. Applications will be accepted through an online application portal via SDCC Housing Online

The portal for online applications for Affordable Purchase Housing at Foxwood Barn will open at 12pm on Friday 2nd August 2024 and close at 4pm on Friday 23rd August 2024.

If you have previously registered or set up an account to manage another housing application (including tenancy, social/affordable housing applications and/or HAP) you will not need to register again. Once registered, applicants must complete an affordable housing application through the HOL system when the portal opens. Once the application portal opens, you can proceed to complete the online application form. You will be required to submit the supporting documentation via email if your application is successful.

Please be aware that applications will be prioritised in line with the adopted Scheme of Priority for Affordable Dwelling Purchase Arrangements(link):

Priority will be given to eligible applicants in the date and time order that their applications were received.
A minimum of 30% of the dwellings will be allocated to eligible applicants who are or have been resident in the administrative area of South Dublin County Council for a minimum period of five (5) years.

Applications will be assessed in the order in which they are received. Applicants will be required to submit documentation (please see list below) to verify their eligibility for the scheme and to assess affordability. Please ensure that you have the required documentation ready to submit to ensure that your application can proceed to the next stage should you be eligible for the opportunity to purchase.
